The seemingly simple act of telling a story, and the process of learning how to tell a story to a group of people, creates, in the words of the celebrated Moth storytelling series "empathy, confidence, life perspective, and the rare feeling of being listened to without being interrupted."
Join Tarja and Janine of Moxie Road Productions for a storytelling workshop aimed at bringing people together and creating real connections. Based loosely on the theme "My Bootstraps Broke: Stories of Survival," we encourage you to submit the story that you want to tell! Join us for four weeks of refining your story for the stage, learning different storytelling strategies, and getting comfortable speaking in front of an audience. The workshop will culminate in an evening in which participants will share their stories in a public show. Special guest, Ann Randolph, an award-winning Broadway playwright and performer, sought-after keynote speaker, will share her story on stage!
Want to learn how to tell a story but not quite ready to get onstage? Check out our Workshop Only option! Learn all of the techniques of moving your story from the page to the stage, without taking the plunge. Price includes a ticket to the grand performance that will be hosted at The Hivery on Friday, November 3 from 7:00-9:00 pm.
