Got a head of steam going?
Great! You don’t need me.
Here’s some advice from poet/novelist/screenwriter Mary Mackay: sometimes writer’s “block” is just a log jam of ideas.
Prompt: write about how you can’t write. And yes, these words count.
If you want to make them feel like they “really” count, replace “I” with a character’s name and anything writing-related to something your character is having trouble with. Bonus points if you turn this exercise into a dialogue between two people.
