It’s time to honor the writing. YOUR writing.

Time to write, time to reflect, time to share, and time to mingle.

This day-long retreat will give you the peace, quiet, and writing prompts you need to dig into your writing project. We’ll balance individual writing time (your own desk!) with group generative writing and the AWA method.

Bring a your own lunch, writing implements of choice, and your inherent creative genius. We’ll provide light refreshments, inspirational writing exercises, and room to write.

The Amherst Writers & Artists’ philosophy

is simple: every person is a writer, and every writer deserves a safe environment in which to experiment. AWA workshops follow a proven method that affirms writers by building confidence, creating an atmosphere of equal exploration, and protecting confidentiality.

About the facilitator: Janine Kovac

Janine Kovac has been a certified teacher of the AWA method since 2013. Elements of her book SPINNING: Choreography for Coming Home were originally written in the AWA workshops taught by Cary Tennis and by AWA founder Pat Schneider. She credits AWA with helping her establish a solid writing routine and finding homes for the little stories that get lodged in her brain.
